What is chili crisp?
Chili crisp is a condiment traditionally made with chili peppers, aromatics, and spices infused in oil for a perfectly crunchy, crispy, tingly, flavorful kick. It has roots in Sichuan cuisine, but is incredibly versatile and delicious on any dish. Our line of chili crisps are savory with crispy shallots, roasted garlic, and other aromatic goodies infused in 100% olive oil.
Once I open it, how long does it last in the fridge?
Our chili crisp is a totally shelf-stable product. So you actually don’t need to refrigerate it at all! It’s 100% olive oil so it will firm up in the fridge. Leave it on the counter next to your other oils so it’s ready to use whenever you want it. For best flavors, it’s best if you consume it within a year of opening it. But it will last as long as you can make it last.
What do I put this on?
Anywhere you would usually use a hot sauce or infused olive oil. Try it on eggs, rice bowls, noodles, dumplings, pizza, tacos, etc.. There’s no wrong way to use our sauces- as a condiment, as a marinade, as a garnish, or simply spoon to face.
Do you use MSG? I’ve had chili crisp before and it was delicious, but it was full of MSG.
Fortunately, you don’t need to lean on MSG if you’re using good ingredients. We’re lucky to have access to some of the best produce in the country here in Sonoma County. We source ingredients as locally as possible and our meticulous production process adds flavor at every step. We are not against the use of MSG, but we do not use it in Big Spoon products.
Are your products organic?
Many but not all of our ingredients are certified organic. Taking Big Spoon fully organic and pursuing the certification at our current size and volume would mean pricing our product outside what we believe is reasonably accessible. We source the best ingredients available to us and stand by their taste and quality.
When will my order ship?
We send out orders 2x per week using USPS Ground. All orders usually ship within 3-4 business days. Pre-orders will ship by the date stated on the pre-order page.
What is your return policy?
We prioritize quality and safety in each jar we produce, and we strive to ensure our customers are satisfied with every purchase. Due to the consumable nature of our products, we are unable to accept returns once an item has left our facility.
If there is an issue with your order, such as receiving the wrong product, damaged jars, or a quality concern, please reach out to us within 7 days of receiving your order. We’ll do our best to resolve the matter with either a replacement, refund, or store credit.
